New Louisiana License Plate Unveiled

BATON ROUGE, La. – A new Louisiana license plate, celebrating the 250th birthday of the United States, was unveiled on Wednesday, June 3.

The Louisiana ‘America 250′ State Commission, in charge of events and activities related to the celebration, unveiled the new plate at a news conference at the Old State Capitol.

The 18 stars on the plate represent Louisiana being the 18th state to join the union in 1812.

“It’s exciting to be a part of this monumental celebration as we mark the birthday of our country’s freedom,” said Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser.

The new license plate will begin distribution on January 1, 2025. It will continue through December 31, 2026, the end of the U.S. Semiquincentennial year.
